At Primrose’s Ponderosa, Inc., our mission is to provide young single mothers with the resources, stability, and support they need to build strong, independent futures. Through housing, education, and mental wellness programs, we empower mothers to break cycles of poverty and create brighter opportunities for themselves and their children.
Our History
Since its founding, Primrose’s Ponderosa, Inc. has been a beacon of hope for young mothers in need. Established with the mission of breaking the cycle of hardship for teenage mothers, our organization has grown from a small initiative to a thriving community-driven support system.
Over the years, we have provided housing, career guidance, and parental education to hundreds of young mothers. We have expanded our reach through mentorship programs, mental health support, and advocacy efforts to ensure that every mother has the resources she needs to succeed.
With the unwavering support of donors, volunteers, and community partners, we continue to build on our legacy—empowering young mothers to achieve stability, independence, and a brighter future for themselves and their children.

Founder & CEO – Contina Clemons
Contina Clemons is the Founder and CEO of Primrose’s Ponderosa, Inc., a nonprofit organization dedicated to supporting single young mothers. As a passionate advocate for women and families, she has spent years empowering mothers by providing essential resources, mentorship, and community programs designed to foster self-sufficiency and success.
Contina founded Primrose’s Ponderosa, Inc. in Oklahoma City, OK, in 2015, focusing on supporting teen mothers through educational resources and empowerment initiatives. In 2017, she expanded her mission by relocating to Houston, TX, where she continues to impact the lives of single mothers through strategic partnerships and community-driven programs.
Community Leadership & Impact
- Annual Mother’s Day Brunch – In partnership with her church, New Pleasant Grove, Contina helps host an annual event that celebrates and uplifts single mothers in the community by providing:
- A luncheon in their honor.
- Inspirational speakers, including single mothers who have built successful businesses and mothers of NFL players, sharing their journeys of perseverance and success.
- Teen Motherhood Support Conferences – Organized and led conferences designed to provide education, mentorship, and resources for young mothers, equipping them with the skills needed to build a stable future.
- Volunteer & Mentorship Work – Dedicated to hands-on service, Contina has volunteered at Life House of Houston, mentoring young single mothers and helping them navigate challenges related to parenting, education, and financial independence.
